Struggle with the bucket challenge!

If you are not struggling, you are not trying and therefore you cannot be reflexive. The prime theme around which our second week lectures began. Being an ardent fan of Paulo Coelho's works and having read a few of them myself, the Mindful Manager module brings in a lot of philosophical touch to the General Management core of the MBA programme. It is not very straight forward, involves deep thinking and understanding but it is indeed enlightening and thought provoking once you understand. Everyday we get to perform some real simple yet mindful activities and I am now starting to look around for any props as soon as I enter the lecture theatre. We all did, what I would possibly call a 'Struggle with the bucket' challenge - to stand inside a bucket and try to pull the handle upwards. Everyone struggled to lift the bucket atleast by a fraction of an inch, but the result was obvious. A key learning that unless one is struggling, one cannot reflect and therefore cannot be reflexive. We also wore those fancy, coloured lens - again a lesson that conveyed that - 'if one has inappropriate lens, one will only see a calm not a storm'. Lots to learn and I am loving it.
