Pre-Departure fun!

Besides the regular rush in sorting out the luggage and getting the documents in place, the past 2 weeks were thoroughly filled with fun. Visiting relatives and friends, friends coming home, shopping and packing, skype calls, every bit of it added to the experience. And it was pouring like crazy in Hyderabad that the place was flooded after many many years. To which a friend commented saying even the city was so very unhappy that I was leaving for an extended period and couldn't resist but cry incessantly. :) Time will move on but memories will always remain. Will surely miss family and friends back home.

Laying the road to Lancaster!

It all started a few months ago, when I decided to apply to Lancaster University Management School for their 1 year MBA programme. The small class size, the diversity, the rankings, the course structure and modules were main elements that helped in my decision making process. I was soon called for an interview and had a brilliant session that lasted for quite a while. It was my very first interaction with someone from the school and I was totally convinced with my decision post the interview. Foundation stone laid!

Soon, I got the much awaited e-mail offering me a place in the 2016-17 cohort. It didn’t take very long for me to accept the offer. While it was a tough and important decision to make given the choices I had, I was super inclined to choosing LUMS – glad I was following the constant updates from the school and  the current cohort on facebook and twitter. And then - Lancaster jumps 15 places up in the FT ’16 rankings. Now isn’t that something? I was thoroughly elated and happy. Work begins. Formalities and procedures sorted. Pace picks up. Road connecting Hyderabad and Lancaster laid.

This is going to be my first time staying away from home for a long period (1 year). While I will miss home and the family back home, I am super excited to be part of the cohort and connect with my second international family. ( Read this blog to find out which is the first international family). I am really looking forward to this experience that in my perspective is going to be life changing because I will be ‘discovering myself’ better. Stay tuned while I narrate my experiences about living in Lancaster.
