The last week in Lancaster begins in 5..4.....

Leading Mindfully with Chris Saunders was on the cards for the first 3 days of the week. Taking it from where we left in December and ending it with an inspirational shower resulting from emotional bursts of leadership speeches. A nice ending to the course work. Wednesday also saw a power outage for 7 hours, the first since I landed here in the UK. Closed with fun few hours over dinner spent with Nathalie, Jen, Tina & Deepika. Thursday was a relaxed day with everyone preparing for the final cultural evening. A host of cuisines and a galore of games and entertainment filled the MBA suite with fun, food and music. A super fun evening. Also got to shake a leg with Shiksha! Friday was dedicated to exam revision and the evening spent on the usual chores. Weekend was supposed to be productive with a chase to close assignments and prep for the exam, well it isn't turning out to be so. Some from the cohort set out to explore Liverpool with Tim, who is a local from there. The last week in Lancaster begins shortly...... #loveLancaster

Nearing the last lap in Lancaster!

Back in Lancaster, the previous week started off with Responsible Management and Ethics module. A week filled with sessions, guest lectures, presentations, a picnic and not to mention a lot of work. The fact that while some people maybe inclined towards sustainability and responsibility related topics, there are also people with differing opinions and it is equally important for a responsible manager to deal with such perspectives, became evident. I personally thought it made a nice conclusion to the whole set off modules, tying it all together in an ethical wrap. One of the days we visited the BrigFlatts meeting house of the Quakers to witness how Quakers used to host meetings. It was a unique experience. We also had a mini picnic post that meeting. Friday was a day filled with presentations and ended with a dinner party in my flat. Saturday and Sunday were mostly spent working on assignments and setting the stage for the last-leg in Lancaster. #lovelancaster

Birthday in London & more

A big-shout to my classmates for making June 6th very special for me! The week started at Enfield, where I spent quality time at home playing, eating and having fun. It was already an amazing start to the week. On Tuesday, the 6th we were out on the streets of London hunting treasure. The Apprentice Treasure Hunt it was. Super fun and a new experience. Later that evening, we all met at Riverside Pub, thanks to Tim for suggesting the venue and Shu for booking the venue for us. It was a nice place facing Thames and I knew little about the surprise that awaited. In a little while, my face was smeared with cake, everyone was singing, I got gifted a lovely card with beautiful messages. Couldn't have asked for more! A big hug and thanks to my MBA family! Later that evening, The Coriander it was, where we dined on delicious Indian cuisine. Thanks to the numerous  messages, calls and cards from all over the world from friends, family and extended network. Not to forget the longest and beautiful message ever from Manshuk! Wednesday was well spent with Cana and Caroline at The Work Foundation. That evening on Clara's proposal we landed up at Lotus for another lavish and delicious Indian dinner. It was rather a less busy week compared to our earlier London visits. Thursday evening we hosted an MBA dinner on the HMS Belfast. It was good to have alumni, industry representatives and many others on board. Our guest of honour - Chris Parry delivered a completely attention grabbing talk and I thought it was a very eloquent and seamless speech that I have heard this far. I also spent Thursday and Friday, meeting with a couple other alumni around London before we headed back to Lancaster that evening. I will cherish this week for ever and this will remain a beautiful memory for life. #lovelancaster

Junio comienza en Londres

Flaunting my Spanish skills, already! Thanks to Maite, who is helping me learn the language. Hoping to at least be a qualified beginner before I leave Lancaster. Later last week, we drew down Mergers & Acquisitions to a closure which also marked the end of the elective season. Classmates who were out on exchanges are also back and it was exciting to hear their stories and experiences. Multiple day (pictures below) and late night walks around the campus, cooking adventures and long chats in the Grad Bar complemented the elective closure. Saturday morning was rather adventurous with a fire brigade coming in to douse smoke that resulted due to someone leaving milk to boil and burn on the hob in the ground floor. An hour spent waiting outside. Late in the evening 10 of us decided to yet again stay out for a star gazing night. It was a wonderful experience and we were all chatting our heart out! Saturday and Sunday also went in cheering for the soccer and cricket match respectively. Sunday opened to the disheartening news on the London attacks! Prayers! The same day I traveled down South for the upcoming week in London. Monday morning at my cousin's place! Chilling, chatting and having a good time. June begins.......Hasta Pronto!
