After an extended 3 day transit in the UAE, I landed at
Manchester on the Saturday morning. A super start to a new month. 1st October at Manchester! Immigration
was pretty quick but the queue was long. It did take a while and then the
baggage belt took its own time to tag my baggage with my eye. The volunteers at
the Lancaster booth at the airport helped us with relevant information to get
to the University. While we were waiting for the shuttle to arrive, we quickly
managed to walk through the sidewalks around the airport and the metro to get
first impressions of the city. Connecting with students who had come from
multiple parts of the globe and getting on a quick chat with them was fun. We
grabbed some quick breakfast at Café Refresh, took numerous pictures and then
hopped onto the shuttle and in no time, we were heading to my new home for the
next year – Lancaster!
